Our Famous Rain Forest
Our Rain Forest picnic
I am a nature lover. the nature club of our school organized a trip to Sinharaja and we visited the rain forest last week.
When we reached Sinharaja, we had to go to the office and take a guide. Another group of school children had come before us. We started our walk through the jungle. We did not make much noise because we wanted to listen to the singing of the birds and the sound of the water in the streams as it flawed through rocks and stones. The water was so fresh and cool. The trees were so tall with thick creepers. It was quiet and peaceful. While we were walking, We saw something shining on the path. We were puzzled and we went closer to find that they were toffee wrappers. We were upset and then there were more shocking things thrown on the sides.
Polythene bags, biscuit wrappers and even plastic bottles were lying on the ground. There were also fresh broken sprigs and leaves. It was so uncaring and we felt very sad.
So my dear friends please remember that, when you visit important places, forests, parks or mountains you must help to protect them. You must bring out everything you take in and leave only your footprint behind.
